Star Citizen Keeps Breaking Records, Reaches $10,000,000 in Crowd Funding

While E3 is in full swing, the people at Cloud Imperium Games are probably celebrating, as Star Citizen just passed the ten million dollars mark in its ongoing crowd funding campaign.

That’s definitely a staggering amount for a small indie team, and I can only be happy to know that Chris Roberts and his folks will have a proper budget to work with, on what has been for a while one of my most anticipated games for the next few years.

Specifically, according to what was previously shared, having reached ten millions allows the development team to build its own motion capture studio to better animate the game’s characters in-house. In the video below you can see a brief “Thank You” from Chris Roberts himself, followed by a demonstration of the motion capture equipment that the studio is going to use.

Here’s to you Chris, now let’s get that number to eleven million. Pledging is still possible on the game’s official website.
