Star Citizen Raises its First Million in Eight Days, Now on Kickstarter Too

It’s no mystery that I’m excited for Star Citizen. The return of Chris Roberts to the development scene will make many Wing Commander fans happy, and personally there’s no series that influenced my gaming background more than Roberts’ space opera.

To those that are excited like I am, today is a good day, as the project raised its first million dollars thanks to the pledges of  (at the moment of this writing) 11,207 gamers.

With 22 days left on the counter, the first goal of two million dollars seems to be very much in sight, and it’s very possible that higher goals will be reached. If you want to pledge yourself, you can do so here.

On top of the first million reached on the game’s own official page, Cloud Imperium Games also launched an additional Kickstarter campaign, with an independent funding goal of $500,000 in order to grant access to funding to those that prefer Kickstarter or are unable to pledge on the official website.

Bring it on, Chris, I can’t wait to be in the cockpit again.
