Star Wars: Battlefront and Final Fantasy VII Remake Are the Most Watched E3 Trailers: Full List Inside

One of the biggest features of E3, at least for those who don’t get to attend, are the trailers. Tens of games are announced or showcased with flashy cinematic or gameplay sequences for our viewing pleasure.

But what were the most watched E3 trailers on YouTube?

In order to answer that question, we listed below all the E3 trailers that received more than 100,000 views. We listed only official channels, and marked accordingly those that have alternate or regional versions. When there’s no indication, it means that the trailer is the one on the “main” channel of the game or of its publisher. If a version is not listed, it means it didn’t reach 100,000 views.

All pages have been refreshed roughly at the same time, one hour before publishing this trailer, so the numbers are as of 5 PM EDT on June 21st.

While the numbers can give a rough indication on the popularity of a game, that’s not the only factor in play. The popularity of the channel is another big factor (for instance, the North American PlayStation channel is massively popular), as much as the social media reach of the publisher or developer.

That said, the results at the top are not exactly surprising. Electronic Arts basically starved StarWars: Battlefront fans of gameplay for months, teasing us in a borderline sadistic way.

The Final Fantasy VII remake could easily be defined the megaton of the megatons, with the game’s fanbase having waited for this announcement for ages, and near-hysterical reactions, it’s pretty predictable that everyone scrambled to watch the trailer as soon as possible.

Destiny launched to mixed reception, with a rather polarized reaction from both critics and gamers. Yet, it’s definitely one of the most popular games of the year, so it’s to be expected that the trailer of The Taken King expansion is just as popular.

FIFA 16 might seem a dark horse to those living in North America, but the popularity of the franchise in Europe is absolutely massive.

Solid placements for Assassin’s Creed, Mass Effect, Uncharted, The Last Guardian and Halo are also well within expectations.
