Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming release of Star Wars: Battlefront II later this year, and while it won't be in stores until November, you can get an early glimpse at the conflicts that await with a prequel novel this summer.

Coming off the heels of the announcement of Star Wars: Battlefront II during the annual Star Wars Celebration, a tie-in novel that leads up to the game's events, Star Wars: Battlefront II - Inferno Squad, will be in stores this summer and bridge the gap into the game's single-player campaign.

Specifically, it was revealed that the book - which is written by author Christie Golden - was originally intended as a follow-up novel to last year's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, though the novel has since shifted into being a leadup into Battlefront II and will explore the backstory of the single-player campaign's protagonist, Iden Versio, and the rise of the titular Inferno Squad.

Star Wars: Battlefront II will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17th, 2017, while the tie-in novel Inferno Squad will release on July 25th, 2017. In the meantime, you can check out the full book art below:
