Star Wars: Battlefront Teases Aren’t CGI; “That Is What the Game Looks Like” According to the Devs

Today we saw a couple teases of Star Wars: Battlefront, to be more precise, a screenshot and a small video. Developers are commenting, letting us know that if we think we’re looking at CGI, we’re mistaken.

Lead Level Designer Dennis Brännvall was quite clear:

VFX artist Daniel Kopp also chimed in:

Kopp also mentioned that attendees at the Star Wars celebration will get to see gameplay, which probably means that what we’ll see livestreamed during the game’s panel will actually be a cinematic.

In the meanwhile, the game’s Producer shown some sportsmanship in his reaction to the fact that the release date has been leaked one day before the announcement:

If stuff like this happens, we only have ourselves to blame. However, you would have learned this very soon anyway : )

Finally, Lead Gameplay Director Gustav Halling was asked about split screen amd the use of DirectX 12, and while he could not answer, he promised more details this spring:

One thing baffles me: is it possible that in 2015 publishers still don’t know that the first thing the fans will do is mining the source code of a new website?
