Star Wars: The Old Republic Preorder Available. No Release Date In Sight

Today Electronic Arts finally started the preorder campaign for the massively anticipated MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The game can be preordered in three versions, a massive (and pricy) $150 Collector’s Edition, a Digital Deluxe Edition and a Standard Edition (both in physical and digital form).

As previously revealed, digital copies will be available exclusively on the new EA Origins digital store, preventing customers to use other popular digital sevices like Steam.

Besides the perks specific to each edition, all preorders will receive early access to the game and a Color Stone, an in-game item that allows to change the color of lightsabers and blaster bolts.

This actually creates a nasty doubt about the possibility to change those colors for people that won’t preorder, since it’s a customization option that most people would expect as available to everyone in a Star Wars MMORPG.

Unfortunately there’s still no release date in sight, even if the availability of the preorder seems to indicate that it might not be too far.
