If you visit this site regularly you probably heard about Walmart canceling thousands of preorders of Star Wars: The Old Republic due to a system error, leaving customers in doubt about their ability to receive the game in time for Early access or even launch.
Bioware had previously updated the situation with Senior Community Manager Stephen Reid anouncing that it would probably all work out.
Things indeed started to work out today, with several gamers reporting on many venues that their order status had changed from “Canceled” to “Shipped” or “Processing”, thing that indeed indicates that the problem is heading towards a solution.
If you preordered the game at Walmart, chances are your order was canceled a few days ago and it’s definitely advisable for you to go and check the order history section of your “my account” page on the Walmart website now that things have started to move, especially if you were planning to go ahead and buy the game somewhere else, to avoid finding yourself with two copies.
A few users actually reported that their order was indeed canceled for real and they received a refund, but, according to Bioware, they seem to be a minority. At the very least now they know for sure that they can purchase the game elsewhere without finding Walmart’s delivery at their door in a few days.
