Blizzard Entertainment finally announced the release date for its iconic and highly anticipated StarCraft: Remastered. The game is currently scheduled to launch on August 14, 2017 across PC and MAC.

In addition to the official release date being announced Blizzard also revealed the price for StarCraft Remastered. The game will retail for $14.99, which isn't a bad price considering the asking price for most remastered games that have come out recently.

StarCraft Remastered is not being re-built from the ground up however. One of the things the development team stayed true to was ensuring that the game felt like it did way back in the day. The remastered version of the classic game will include the base game and the Brood War expansion. This includes keeping awkward lighting effects that were present in the original game. The main features for the remastered edition are the 4K Ultra High Definition graphics, new matchmaking and leaderboard systems. Players will also have the choice of switching between the old visuals and the newly updated visuals on the fly by pressing a keyboard key, which is a nice feature that will enable players to have their minds blown quickly and easily.

Blizzard also announced today that those who pre-order StarCraft: Remastered before August 14 will be treated to in-game bonus items for both StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft II.

StarCraft: Remastered is scheduled to launch on PC and MAC on August 14, 2017 for $14.99. Pre-orders are now live on Battlenet.
