Dylan Jobe, president of Lightbox Interactive, posted two big announcements on the Playstation Blog today concerning Starhawk. The first was a confirmation that the game had recently gone gold and will meet it’s expected release date of May 8th, 2012.

Jobe went on to announce that beta testers will be receiving two in-game bonuses when Starhawk is released. The first of the two items announced is known as the, “Hand of the Founder,” Jobe wrote, “It’s a gold, glowing, atom-looking thing that is bonded to your right hand. It’s intended to be a way to show off to your friends and everyone else online that you were one of Starhawk’s founders.” The ‘Hand of the Founder’ is exclusive to all Starhawk beta testers.

The, “Warhawk Paint Set,” was the second item announced for Beta testers, “It includes two exclusive vehicle paint schemes that you can use to customize any of your vehicles in Starhawk.” This item, however, will only be available to Starhawk beta testers who previously played Warhawk.

Jobe also explicitly stated that the aforementioned items will, “never be re-released or sold.” Details regarding the distribution of the bonuses will be released sometime in the near future.
