If you're enjoying Final Fantasy XIV, it's time to get festive, as tomorrow the Starlight Celebration begins in Eorzea.

The annual Holiday event has been repeated since the dark years of version 1.0, and then transferred over to A Realm Reborn to celebrate Christmas and the rest of the winter Holidays.

The event will begin tomorrow, December 15th, and will continue until December 31st.

If're a friendly neighborhood Grinch and all you can think about is what's in it for you, the event prompts you to seek Amh Garanjy in Ul'Dah to start a quest chain that will lead you to earn some really spiffy Santa-like gear and Holiday furniture that you can see in the image below.

Those who have let their account lapse can also go back and check out the game thanks to the free login campaign that is currently active and will continue until January 5th.

For some reason the Starlight Celebration always makes me think back about 2012, when we didn't get one because Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 had just been closed and we were waiting for a new one. Back then, I even made a video about it that brings back fond memories. You can check it out below, for old times' sake.

Now we're looking at the release of the second expansion "Stormblood" next summer, and we can smile at the thought of how far this game has come.
