Valve today released the Steam Music Player, to allow players to easily get music playing while gaming.

The music player is integrated into the Steam Overlay, with the idea being that players can easily change what songs they listen to without having to alt+tab to the desktop.

Currently the player is still fairly bare bones and lacks a seek function.

To celebrate the release of the player, Valve have also released the soundtracks for Half Life 1 and 2 as well as the Portal franchise for free on Steam.
