Storybook Workshop to Immerse Kids and Parents

Konami Digital Entertainment’s Storybook Workshop is set to release December 1st for Nintendo Wii just in time for the holidays. The game will immerse kids and parents into 16 beloved children’s fairy tales and fables. The game will feature use of an included USB Microphone (they should have just used the Wii Speak peripheral) where players can read-along, and record and play-back readings you have done. The microphone can also morph your voice to characters in the stories to bring more life into the readings. Storybook Workshop also includes sing-alongs for popular nursery rhymes, and a virtual sticker pad to track a kids’ progress. This could be a great help to early childhood reading skills and teaching tool. Konami can be on to something as they will be using stories from Hans Christian Andersen, the Brothers Grimm and Aesop, maybe next they can do Berenstain Bears or Babar the Elephant. But let’s hope the next stop is Storybook Workshop: Dr Seuss.
