Street Fighter X Tekken: Cross Assault Team Leaders Revealed

on February 2, 2012 8:00 PM

Okay so it’s February, which means it’s about time for Capcom to get the ball rolling on that internet reality show they’re using to promote Street Fighter X Tekken. We know that the show will pit two teams against each other in a variety of SF X T related challenges and that these teams will be lead by, and I quote, “respected names in the fighting game community”. We now know who these two lauded individuals are.

The coach of Team Street Fighter will be Alex Valle. Valle has won US national tournaments for both Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament, and is the first American player to ever play against Daigo Umehara, the world’s most famous Street Fighter player. Aris Bohktanian will coach Team Tekken. Aris is the world’s best SoulCalibur 2 player and he qualified to represent the US in the Tekken 6 world tournament in Japan, as well as the extravagant Japanese Super Battle Opera 2011 tournament.

I’ve heard of Valle many times and seen Aris hosting several tournaments, so I can confirm that these are both pretty popular guys. Hopefully they’ll make Cross Assault an excellent program. SF X T is set to hit the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita on March 6th.
