The 3DS' StreetPass features have always made the handheld one that's fun to carry around even when you're not playing it, with the feature to grow even more on the 3DS starting today

During today's Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo announced several updates and new features coming to the 3DS' StreetPass and that are available now to download. The first included a new addition to the StreetPass Mii Plaza, with a new updated called the "Quick Plaza" proving a sped-up version of the StreetPass Mii Plaza for faster access to new visitors and simplified menus for playing StreetPass games.

The StreetPass Mii Plaza gate has also been updated to include the StreetPass Mii Plaza Premium, which bumps the number of StreetPass visitors that can be waiting at your gate from 10 to 100 visitors at a time.

In addition to the StreetPass updates, five new StreetPass games will also be coming to the service, including Slot Car Rivals, Market Crashers, FeedMii, MiiTrek, and Ninja Launcher, which provide bite-sized new experiences for StreetPass users.

Users will be able to get either Slot Car Rivals or Market Crashers for free, and then can purchase the additional four new games in a discounted bundle from the 3DS eShop.

The new 3DS features and games will be available to download today from the 3DS eShop.
