If you were to ask me, I'd say Sunset Overdrive from Insomniac Games is one of Xbox One's best exclusives. The open-world third-person shooter released back in October 2014, and since then there has been zero chatter about another game in the series, such as a sequel. According to Game Informer, who spoke to Insomniac president Ted Price,  the team at Insomniac is passionate about the franchise.

When asked why there there has been word on a sequel, Price had the following to say:

"You'd have to ask Microsoft." But with or without Microsoft's participation, Sunset Overdrive may grind again."

"We are passionate about that franchise, and we own it, so you may see more Sunset in the future from us. No promises, and no timeline to speak of, but it is something that represents our willingness to create unexpected experiences."

As you may know, currently Insomniac is working on a PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game, as well as its VR title The Unspoken. Whether Sunset Overdrive will return when one or both of these are done, well, that's anyone's best guess, but right now it appears the cult-hit franchise will remain dormant.
