As the pièce de résistance of the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo delved a little more into what players can expect in the upcoming title, Super Mario Odyssey.

The first news in today's Nintendo Direct was to reveal two new Worlds in Super Mario Odyssey: Shiveria and Bubblaine. As you can imagine by both of the titles, Shiveria's is the new ice-based world whereas Bubblaine will be a seaside kingdom with crystal waters and diving points.

That said, Nintendo made it a point to confirm that we still haven't seen every world that the game has to offer -- what kind of "odyssey" would it be if we knew everywhere we were going to go? The House of Mario promised to keep tight-lipped until the game's October launch.

One of the cooler features of the Nintendo Direct was exploring the Snapshot mode -- a first for the Super Mario series letting players take, edit, and warp screenshots that can then be uploaded to the internet for sharing. While this has become standard in many games this generation, Super Mario Odyssey's snapshot mechanics do look in-depth.

Last but not least, Nintendo revealed that a Nitnendo Switch hardware bundle will release alongside Super Mario Odyssey. This bundle comes included with a Super Mario Odyssey-themed Nintendo Switch carrying case, two red Joy-Con controllers, and a download for the title. No price has been announced yet.

Super Mario Odyssey releases exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2017. Check out the new screenshots below:
