Originally released over five years ago for the Xbox 360 and PC, the cult classic hardcore platformer Super Meat Boy has enjoyed several new ports and releases on other platforms including a release on PS4 and PS Vita this week, but those on the Nintendo side may be getting their own taste of Super Meat Boy in the near future.

In a blog post on the game's official website, Super Meat Boy developer Tommy Refenes thanked users for a successful launch of Super Meat Boy this week in its debut on PlayStation Plus, while also dropping a hint that a Wii U version of the game may be on the horizon, as well.

Refenes closed out the blog post indicating that "to the fan's we're still excluding I'll leave you with this: Wii haven't forgotten about U," so hopefully it won't be too much longer before players on Wii U know the incredibly joyful feeling of dying over, and over, and over, and over again in Super Meat Boy.

Super Meat Boy is available for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux, and PS Vita - the Wii U version has been teased in development.
