Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Will Feature An 8-Player Smash Mode

During the “50-Fact Extravaganza” Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo introduced the 8-Player Smash Mode, which allows players to play the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U with up to 8 players at once.

8-Player Smash Mode will be a special mode in the game and won’t be available to play online. It will also be limited to certain stages in the game, which are larger than usual. Those stages include Palutena’s Temple, Temple and Big Battlefield.

Additionally, the game will will allow for battling on two planes on certain stages—the foreground and the background. Check it out below:

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is scheduled to release on November 21st in North America and December 5th in Europe, and December 6th in Japan.
