Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition to Include DRM; Specs Released

The Capcom Unity blog has just reported that while Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will be released for the PC, it will include everyone’s favorite DRM, a form of piracy protection that forces gamers to be online while playing. Capcom has followed in light of the original Street Fighter IV being one of the most pirated games of 2009.

As stated on the Capcom Unity website:

SFIV unfortunately was plagued by pirates and hackers that messed up leaderboards. To hopefully remedy that, SSFIV:AE will be making use of what is called SSA technology

What is meant by SSA technology is is that all gamers must be connected to their Games for Windows Live account to use all the features of the title, otherwise only limited functionality will be available, meaning that DLC will not be accessible (only 15 of 39 characters can be played), online play will not be able to be accessed and all online features will be disabled.

Besdides for the DRM issue, Capcom has also released the minimum and recommended specs for the title, which are both posted below.
