Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment has been selling very well in Japan. The game has boosted PS Vita sales in the region and has been imported by many fans across the world, even with the localized version coming soon in western territories.

Yosuke Futami, the producer of the game said before the game released that if it sold well, there would be a sequel. Now, months after the games release he has confirmed that work has begun on a sequel for the game.

The first game, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, released for the PSP. The sequel Hollow Fragment released on PS Vita. Could we see another hardware upgrade and see the next game on the PS3, or even on the PS4 to make use of the Project Morpheus hardware? It would make sense in a game based on Virtual MMORPG’s. Especially now that we’ve seen Oculus Rift demo’s of Hollow Fragment being worked on.
