If you've been enjoying the slew of indies that have emerged over the past couple of years then why not go full-on 'old-school' with Syndicate?

A lot of indie titles these days attempt to replicate the aesthetics of the best games of yesteryear, but for the genuine retro experience you need to actually go retro.

Thankfully EA are here to help you out in your endeavor to eat up a slice of gaming history. If you head over to the EA Origin store you'll be able to download and play Syndicate for free. Absolutely free. No catch. Not a penny.

Syndicate was first released in 1993 to fairly positive reviews and was rated as the 7th best ever game on the Amiga system.

It received a re-imagining with 2012's Syndicate that released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Though it played nothing like its original, it was still a fairly decent game, so maybe dip into that one when you've finished your freebie.

Just head here to nab your free game. Enjoy!
