System Update 3.30 for PS Vita Will Introduce Themes; Live from PlayStation App on the Way

on September 1, 2014 2:17 AM

Just announced at the SCEJA Press Conference 2014, the team at PlayStation unwrapped its plans for users to (finally) be able to truly customize the handheld and make it their own through themes. Similar it to the  themes available for PlayStation 3, video game specific themes can now change the look of your PS Vita UX.

Sony also announced that the “Live from PlayStation” app — made popular on the PlayStation 4 — will now make its way to the handheld as well. The app allows players to view streams of games being broadcasted by players around the world from PlayStation 4 consoles. No mention was made about streaming functionality from the handheld itself, but that could actually be a limitation of the hardware. Either way, the inclusion of themes and “Live from PlayStation” make a cool addition to the PS Vita suite of services.

An exact date for system update 3.30 was not revealed and the “Live from PlayStation” app is expected to launch sometime in the fall.
