During Take-Two’s quarterly results conference call, CEO Strauss  Strauss Zelnick talked about the reactions to Mafia III at E3, and the company’s expectations and marketing spend for the game.

According to Zelnick Mafia III had a great show, and the Take-Two is “really proud” of they way they have shown off the title. It received sixty nominations and twelve awards, and there were “enormous buzz” and “lots of press.” It’s a title that Take-Two put “a lot of investment in,” in terms of development and marketing both current and upcoming, and they have “high hopes for it.”

Later in the call, Zelnick mentioned that the company was optimistic going into the show and even more so after E3, and they have a significant marketing budget supporting the release. They’re “really stepping up and getting behind the title” because they really believe in it.
