Tales Of Producer Hideo Baba Talks Battle Systems, Favorite Games and Future Western Expansion

on July 4, 2012 11:55 AM

After two months of silence Namco Bandai Europe published the fourth and last episode of the community interview to the producer of the Tales Of series Hideo Baba (you can find the previous three parts here, here and here).

Baba-san answered some quite interesting questions, including his favorite western games. he mentioned the Wizardry series, which  isn’t really surprising considering that it’s extremely popular between old-school gamers in Japan, but he also went ahead and praised the Uncharted series and Heavy Rain.

Finally he expressed the intention to expand the Tales Of series overseas. Given how much he mentions Tales of Xillia, and the fact that the trademark has already been registered both in the United States and in Europe, I think it’s safe to say that we can expect to hear something about it pretty soon.

You can check out the whole interview below.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
