Telltale Announces 7 Million Dollar Investment

on June 11, 2011 12:00 PM

Telltale just announced that they’re getting $7 million investments in Series C funding. The funding, lead by IDG Ventures and Granite Ventures, is due to, as Telltale puts it, expansion in their “product line” and the acquisition of “several high-profile licensed IPs”, which is definitely true; they have their Jurassic Park game coming soon, the Back to the Future series of games, and the currently in development Walking Dead game, and then there are smaller acquisitions like Hector (previously owned by Straandlooper) and their new Puzzle Agent IP.

What this boils down to is that Telltale Games is getting really big. More proof that adventure games are back and that people are counting on them to stick around for a while.
