Even with fans waiting eagerly for more information on The Walking Dead: Season Two arriving later this month, even more enticing is the recent news from this past weekend’s Spike VGX Awards that Telltale Games will begin working on a new episodic game based around the HBO television series, Game of Thrones.

In a media release from the studio, Telltale confirmed that its working agreement with HBO Global Licensing to produce their video game adaptation of the popular HBO series will be a “multi-year, multi-title partnership,” in order to produce the game as closely (and faithfully) as possible to the series and beloved source material by George R.R. Martin by releasing multiple seasons over time, like with Telltale’s ongoing titles, The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us.

While details have been scarce for Telltale’s Game of Thrones series other than the confirmation of rumors from a few weeks ago that it would be their next project, the title is anticipated to hit consoles, mobile, and PC/Mac sometime in 2014, according to the media release: stay tuned for more details on Telltale’s Game of Thrones, in the meantime.
