Imangi Studios' hit iOs game Temple Run will hit the Android Market on March 27th.Temple Run has already scored 40 million downloads,  sports an impressive 7 million daily active users, and is currently the top free app as well the top grossing app in the iOs App Store.

Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios, says, “We are excited to finally share the Android release date with our fans who have been so enthusiastic and supportive of Temple Run. By expanding to more mobile devices, we hope to provide the same addictive and fast-paced gameplay to an entirely new group of players.”

For those who are not among the 40 million who have already played the game, Temple Run is sort of a cross between Pitfall and that crazy speed racer level in the NES version of Battletoads  -- players are tasked with dodging, ducking, and sprinting their way past deadly obstacles to escape the dangerous jungle. It is free to play, and features in-app purchases of new characters and power-ups.

We'll see just how massive this already impressive player base can get when it hits the Android Market in a few weeks.
