Today, Hironobu Sakaguchi’s Mistwalker Corporation released a new trailer of its upcoming JRPG Terra Battle 2.

The trailer introduces the main characters of the game, designed by Kimihiko Fujisaka. You can check it out below, and you can also see artwork for each character at the bottom of the post.

On top of that, you may have heard about the scenario for Terra Battle by Team Fujisaka, including Fujisaka-san himself, NieR: Automata Director Yoko Taro as the writer, and Composer Keiichi Okabe creating the score. If you haven’t, you can find a screenshot at the end of the gallery. It’s titled Arachnobot’s Tale (Mekachura’s Story in Japanese), and it was introduced in the game a few days ago.

The news is that Team Fujisaka might not be done with Terra Battle. Mistwalker announced (it can be seen in the second video), that a scenario created by them will be part of Terra Battle 2’s Download Starter campaign. This means that it will be implemented after a certain number of downloads is achieved by the game. At that moment that number is still undisclosed.

While Terra Battle 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, Sakaguchi-san and his studio are hard at work to meet a late summer release window for iOS, Android and PC, at least in Japan and North America, with more countries to follow.

If you want to see more, you can also check out some direct feed gameplay here, on top of the first trailer.

You can also enjoy our extensive coverage from Anime Expo, starting from an interview with Hironobu Sakaguchi himself. During a separate press panel, Sakaguchi-san also talked about his opinion on the Nintendo Switch, the (unlikely) possibility of his return to the Final Fantasy franchise, and shared more details on the console version of Terra Battle.
