Today Hironobu Sakaguchi’s studio Mistwalker announced that the mobile JRPG Terra Battle has achieved 2,000,000 downloads. This is not just a download milestone, but it also marks the return of the creator of Final Fantasy to consoles after a long period on mobile.

Thank you all for helping Terra Battle reach the 2 Mil milestone!!
As promised in our Download Starter’s 2 Mil milestone, we will start production of Terra Battle Console Version!

The console version of Terra Battle, code named Terra Battle World, has been explained by Sakaguchi-san an online RPG/MMORPG with tactical elements and a focus on team work and positional attacks.

We still don’t have information on the specific platforms it will be released on, or on the development timing, but it’s coming.

Below you can see a celebratory video by composer Nobuo Uematsu and his Earthbound Papas band, but in the meanwhile, welcome back, Sakaguchi-san!

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
