Tesla: The Weather Man is the Greatest Video Game Concept of 2011

Tesla: The Weather Man is the brainchild of indie studio Thoughtquake. How it’s been out for a month and still remains relatively unknown is mind-boggling to me, as the premise is just downright awesome-sauce.

You’re Nikola Tesla, and you’ve invented a gauntlet that can control the weather. You’re trying to seek revenge on your lifetime rival, Thomas Edison, who has sent his robot army to sabotage Tesla’s work. Words don’t do it justice; hit the jump for the launch trailer, and be amazed.

It’s beautiful, isn’t it? You can check out the demo or buy the game for $9.99 here, and expect a thorough review from yours truly later on in the week.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
