Sony has announced that on October 3rd the PlayStation Store will be available on mobile devices and begin delivering PlayStation Mobile content.

The service will begin in nine countries that include Japan, US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia. There will be about 30 new titles at launch available at various price points similar to other app stores. The games have been created by both third party developers and publishers as well as SCE Worldwide Studio.

Also SCE has announced that Fujitsu Limited and Sharp Corporation have joined the PlayStation Certified program. This is a strong step by Sony in trying to bring the PlayStation experience everywhere to all devices.

The best part of all of this is that owners of the PlayStation Vita will have access to PlayStation Mobile titles as well. Owners of compatible mobile devices from HTC and Sony have something to look forward to this October.
