TGS 2013: Check Out the Charming Booth “Companions” of Tokyo Game Show 2013

on September 21, 2013 11:21 AM

In the west we call them “booth babes”, and lately they faced a lot of hostility and scorn from the media. In Japan they’re more subtly named “companions”, and the local media has no qualms in celebrating them.

If you’re curious to see the Japanese version of a profession that in the west may very well go the way of the dodo, we got you covered. Below you can see a rich gallery with a selection of the most charming booth “companions” on the show floor. There’s also a video (courtesy of JiJi.com) if pictures are not enough for you.

Want more? Don’t worry. There are literally hundreds more where these can from. You can find them on 4Gamer¬†and Famitsu (Part 1 and Part 2). While all the pictures are safe for work, maybe you shouldn’t check them out when your wife is looking at the screen…just to be sure. See if you can guess what games or hardware each of them is promoting.

And yes, there were a few mascots, and one dude all by himself. He must be feeling quite special.
