While video games have been known for their fun and engagement with players in an interactive way, games have also not been shy to address more serious issues and emotional topics, with the upcoming title That Dragon, Cancer seeking to provide players with a closer look at the struggles of illness, while also serving as an emotional tribute from the game’s creator.

Created by game developers Ryan Green and Josh Larson, That Dragon, Cancer is a point-and-click adventure title that also serves as a tribute to Green’s son, Joel, who died from cancer in March 2014. Since then, Green had been working on the title as a tribute to his son, with the game to be released following a Kickstarter campaign that funded the game at over $100,000.

Following the game’s development and production, Green and Larson announced through a new trailer that the game will release on January 12th, 2016 for PC, Mac, and Ouya, with pre-orders for the game available now through its official website.
