With the release of The Banner Saga 3 this past summer, developer Stoic Studio concluded its epic trilogy of strategy RPGs in a thrilling fashion, though the experience of the third game will continue with the long-awaited Eternal Arena mode next week.

Developer Stoic Studio has announced that The Banner Saga 3 will be getting its Eternal Arena mode on December 12, 2018, which was planned as the final Kickstarter stretch goal from the game's original crowdfunding campaign. In the meantime until its full release next week, the mode is available in beta form for players to test out themselves.

The Eternal Arena mode adds on to the experience of The Banner Saga 3 by giving players new challenges and the ability to customize your own maps, rules, and enemies for special battle arenas. Along with that, Eternal Arena also provides the ability to take on weekly challenges and compete for placement on leaderboards, giving the more single-player focused experience of the game a bit of a competitive edge for players that want to test their skills.

The Banner Saga 3 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac, with the game to release on iOS and Android down the line.
