The Darkness II Demo is Coming to Xbox Live First, PSN and Steam to Follow Later

Back in 2007, 2K Games released The Darkness (no pun intended) and it was an ambitious game based on the comic book of the same name; the game offered players a kind of freedom that is rarely found in first person shooters even today. The ability to use two demon arms in addition to your firearm was refreshing and unforgivingly brutal, add to the fact the characters were fully fleshed out and you have an unforgettable game.

Critically, the game was a hit as it combined solid storytelling, impressive AI, and a fully-realized take on the gothic horror genre. Time has passed and developer Digital Extremes is at the helm this time and ready to let players dive once again into the shoes of Jackie Estacado with The Darkness II.

The demo will be available around the world to Xbox Live Gold subscribers on January 17, but it won’t hit the PlayStation Network, Steam or Xbox Live for silver subscribers until January 24. The Darkness II is set to drop February 7th in the US and February 10 in Europe.
