The Dead Island Launch Trailer is All Kinds of SWAG

Highly-anticipated zombie RPG/brawler/FPS/orgy Dead Island is set to come out in under a week, and there’s none more excited than myself. I got to see the first real glimpse of the game at GDC way back in March, and since then I’ve held onto the notion that it might very well live up to that emotionally visceral intro trailer in terms of gameplay, style, and overall fun.

After viewing this launch trailer, I’m inclined to agree. It looks unbelievably polished, and the melee mechanics look like they’re a joy to play with; developer Techland really pushed themselves for this one, it seems. Hit the jump for the trailer.

I don’t always enjoy zombie violence, but when I do, there better be an abundance of gore, blood, and unbelievably disheartening squishy sounds. I approve, and can’t wait to get my hands on this one when it hits all major consoles and PC on September 6th.
