Coming off its successful closed beta this year, the highly-anticipated The Division will be opening up its doors to a post-apocalyptic Manhattan for all players to enjoy before its final release in March, with the title getting an open beta for all players in just one week from now.
Ubisoft announced that an open beta for The Division will begin next week on February 18th, 2016 exclusively for Xbox One players, while PS4 and PC players will be able to experience the beta one day later on February 19th. Pre-loading for the beta will begin on all platforms on February 16th, 2016.
The beta will run across several days until February 21st for all platforms, with Ubisoft explaining that “most of the PC cheating issues tracked during the closed beta” have been resolved by the game’s development team, though the open beta will provide a much larger testing audience for the game ahead of its release in March, as the team “will continue to closely monitor the open beta for any new issues, and address them accordingly.”
In addition to access for new players that may not have been able to participate in the closed beta, the new open beta for The Division will also include a brand new story mission that wasn’t included in the previous closed beta last month, providing a nice incentive for players to come back and check out the new beta test.
The Division will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 8th, 2016 – the game’s open beta will begin for Xbox One players on February 18th/PS4 & PC players on February 19th, and run until February 21st, 2016.
