The Evil Within Gets Its Minimum PC Requirements, and They’re Not Too Scary

on October 2, 2014 11:04 PM

Last week, Bethesda threw in quite a shock for The Evil Within – no, it wasn’t just the game’s scary (and strange) visuals, but more for the game’s surprisingly demanding PC specifications on maxed-out settings.

After unveiling the recommended PC specifications for the upcoming new title from Shinji Mikami, this week Bethesda has lifted the curtain on the minimum PC specs required by the game, and while some of the specs are still fairly taxing, it seems to be at least capable of running on older or less-intensive PC rigs. The minimum specs as listed below for The Evil Within are:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1
  • GPU: GTX 460 or an equivalent 1 GB VRAM card
  • CPU: i7 or an equivalent 4+ core processor
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • HDD: 50 GB

Bethesda also clarified on the specs in its blog post that “you won’t be experiencing the game at 1080p and you’ll likely need to turn off some features, but you will still be able to have a great experience with the game” by running it with the minimum PC specs in mind.

The Evil Within releases for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 14th, 2014.
