The Game Awards will have ten world premieres, but as we noticed in the past edition, and in similar shows before, a world premiere can simply be a new trailer of a game we already know about.
Luckily, Host and Producer Geoff Keighley clarified during a livestream on Periscope that among the world premieres there will be announcements of new games.
We have seen several teases during the past few days, but a very interesting point made by Keighley is that one of the studios that will be showcased during the show explicitly requested its presence not to be mentioned at all.
Interestingly, Keighley also added that it’s difficult to keep a secret nowadays, due to the internet and social media.
This might indicate (and from here onward it’s just personal speculation, so take it with a grain of salt), that one of the newly announced games could be PlatinumGames and Activision’s new title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. Ace Combat 7 could be another possibility, even if the hints datamined point to PlayStation Experience on Saturday.
Hideo Kojima’s non compete clause with Konami is also rumored to end this month, and while this is a long shot, we might hear something about what he’ll do next. During this livestream, Keighley confirmed that he still does not know if Kojima-san will be present at the show.
