The Last of Us’ Departed Art Director Nate Wells Rejoins Naughty Dog (UPDATED)

on August 18, 2014 3:34 AM

Update: Wells’ Linkedin profile was updated again this evening, stating that he’s “currently between careers.” We don’t know why the profile previously indicated him as working at Naughty Dog, but we can only presume that it was a mistake. Interestingly, now the profile also mentions that his work at Uncharted’s developer ended in October, way earlier than when the news reached the press. If the profile is to be believed, his parenthesis at Giant Sparrow Games has also concluded.

The original article can be read below:

The Last of Us‘ Art Director Nate Wells was reported to have left Naughty Dog back in April to join Giant Sparrow Games and work on a new game, but apparently he couldn’t stay away from the kennel very long, as his Linkedin Profile now has changed to show him back at the house of Uncharted with a new Lead Artist role.

While we don’t know what caused the switch, looks like things have gone back to square one, demonstrating once more how fluid the gaming industry is.

We reached out to Wells requesting more details, and we’ll let you know if we receive any further information.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
