Dark Souls and its predecessor, Demon's Souls, are known for being some of the most challenging games of the last generation. The tag line for Dark Souls was "Prepare to Die". That alone told you what to expect when you played the game. With that said, it's interesting to see the approach that Capcom has taken with this newest trailer.

The video's narration speaks of perseverance even in the face of certain doom. It tells viewers that death is something that can be learned from and shouldn't make them feel defeated. Is this is a way to make the unforgiving nature of this series more palatable for new players? I can't say for sure but this new approach to advertising the game is very interesting indeed.

Dark Souls II will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 14th. A PC release date is TBA.
