Many of us often look back on our first RPGs with nostalgia and wish for sequels, but a new action by Sony has dredged up those feelings extra harshly for me. It turns out that Sony Computer Entertainment America renewed the trademark recently on The Legend of Dragoon. If you don't remember it, don't worry because most people don't. It was released back in 2000 on the original Playstation. Even though it didn't meet with much success, the game amassed a sizable cult following.

We can't really be sure of if SCEA renewed the trademark on the name because they intend to sell or use the IP again, or if it was just good bookkeeping on their part. When Sony released The Legend of Dragoon via the Playstation Network earlier this year it made respectable sales, likely almost entirely made up of fans who had lost one of the four game discs over the years. If you have played the game, join me in a quick prayer that there will be a sequel, if not check the game out, you won't be disappointed.
