With Game of Thrones actor David Bradley joining the cast of The Mandate as Admiral Suvarov, Perihelion Interactive has unveiled a new trailer, one that asks "Who are you?" Will you do your duty for the Mandate? Will you betray the Empress?

The Mandate, for newcomers, takes place 1500 years into the future, during a time where an Empire with an Imperial Mandate has just lost their Emperor to mysterious circumstances. With his inexperienced daughter crowned in his place just before the loss of the Empire’s best soldiers, the Grand Fleet, colonies have threatened to withdraw from the Mandate. The desperate Empress has created the Corsairs, taking disgraced ex-captains and giving them a ship and crew, charged with reclaiming their honor by working for the Mandate once again.

Captains under the Mandate are expected to quell rebellions, investigate the disappearance of the Grand Fleet, explore new worlds, and fight in the name of the Empress and the Mandate. The game seeks to give players unbridled freedom in how they choose to play the game, be it as a noble and diplomatic soldier loyal to the Mandate, a rebel against the Empire, or a pirate king just looking out for himself and his crew.

With just under six days to go, The Mandate is really, really close to its goal, at nearly $483,000 pledged of its $500,000 goal. To encourage more crowdfunding, they've updated their stretch goals, as quoted below:

If we hit $550.000 then everybody who donated $100 and up will get the digital add-ons strategy guide, art bible, fully rigged 3d character models for FREE (originally this was at $200)

If we hit $650.000 then everybody who donated $50 and up will get the digital add-ons strategy guide, art bible, fully rigged 3d character models for FREE

If we hit $750.000 then everybody who donated $25 and up will get the digital add-ons strategy guide, art bible, fully rigged 3d character models for FREE

Check out the trailer below, and the following screenshots, which show off a look at pirates, the bridge, and the captain. There's also a redub of the story trailer in Russian, which is especially relevant since the game borrows a lot of its design from Russian history.
