The Order: 1886 Developer Ready at Dawn Opens New Office, Has Two Original IPs in Development

The Order 1886‘s developer is spreading its wings, as revealed today in an interview on Game Informer.

Blizzard veteran Paul Sams is taking over as CEO, while Ru Weerasuriya will now take the role of President and Chief Creative Officer. Andrea Pessino will remain in charge of technology.  On top of that, the studio opened a new office in Austin, which will take care of publishing.

The Austin office will focus on self-publishing Ready at Dawn’s own games for the time being, with a platform-agnostic approach. According to Sams, Ready at Dawn’s engine and tech is fully multiplatform, and can do what the studio has done with The Order: 1886 on Xbox One and PC.

While Sams did not share any details about the future of The Order‘s franchise (which is owned by Sony), he mentioned that the studio is currently working on two self-owned original IP, even if they’re not yet ready to be discussed.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
