During his panel at GDC Hideo Kojima just dropped the (rather unsurprising) bomb: the much teased "The Phantom Pain" is nothing else than Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

We still know very little about the game, and more will be undoubtedly shared in the next few hours and past that, but for now we know that it's being worked on internally at Kojima Productions (obviously Moby Dick Stuio was a complete fake), it will be an open world game and it will start with Snake waking up in a hospital bed after a coma that lasted nine years.

So far the only confirmed platforms are PS3 and Xbox 360.

So, who is surprised, but even more importantly, who is excited?

Update: You can check out the full trailer shown at GDC below.

Update 2: The game has now an official website, even if it only includes the trailer and a notice stating that Kojima Productions is hiring for both the domestic studio and the North American one.
