When the PlayStation Move was announced at E3 2009, many hailed it as a revolution that would bring motion controls to the PS3, while others took a more skeptical approach. Despite decent sales, adoption really didn't take off. The few games designed for it haven't been joined by many more, prompting quite a few voices to call the ice-cream shaped controller dead in the water.

Yet, another game is soon going to support the Move and its Navigation Controller, and it's one you wouldn't expect. In a surprise mention at the very bottom of the patch notes for version 2.5 (coming out on January 20th), Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will adopt motion controls with the Move on its PS4 version only.

Can't really say I saw that coming, especially considering that  Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a MMORPG, and I can't really imagine playing that genre with a motion controller. Yet, it's happening, and it isn't even April 1st.

Below you can see the new movie controls that will be implemented in a few days, while we wait to see if Sony's Project Morpheus will manage to fully revive the Move.
