The Premiere of Mortal Kombat: Legacy is Out, and It's Quite a Barnburner

A couple days ago John reported on a teaser for the “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” web series that was based on the superb “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” short a while back. Well, Episode 1 just hit the web, and it’s looking mighty fine. Hit the jump for the episode, and my quick thoughts.

That certainly got the blood pumping, no? I mean, you have Black Dynamite, Helo, and Seven of Nine kicking some serious ass in what looks to be a cyborg factory. How is that not going to be amazeballs? They’ve also got the look down pat, and it’s just realistic enough to not feel cheesy or overwrought with melodrama.

Perhaps my only beef is that there’s yet to be any torment of the ol’ twig ‘n berries yet, but I’m sure that’s soon to come once Johnny Cage appears. And if he doesn’t appear?  Well, let’s just hope someone else is worthy enough to take the hallowed title of “berry destroyer” from a legend like Mr. Cage. Reptile, perhaps?

Looks like the new episode will be up next week, April 18th. Cannot wait for that one.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
