on March 4, 2015 2:42 AM

The PlayStation 2 was first launched in Japan on March 4th, 2000, and today marks the 15th birthday of the now discontinued and glorious console.

In order to celebrate, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia (which is among the first to wake up to the new day) posted a few pictures and a video on its Twitter account.

The PlayStation 2 was extremely successful, and according to the last count in 2012, it has sold over 155 million units worldwide.

Will the PS4 manage to get that far?
