It looks like Valve kept their promise and has delivered Left 4 Dead fans the first look into the happenings before the upcoming DLC. "The Sacrifice," drawn by Michael Avon Oeming, this four part comic tells a story of the Left 4 Dead cast's adventures before the DLC of the same name.

The other three parts of the comic will become available over the course of the next three Tuesdays, while the DLC will be available for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 on the PC and Mac.
