A Glimpse Into Dark Matter’s Setting and Background, Narrated By the Companion

In their latest Kickstarter update, InterWave Studios finally released their story cinematic for Dark Wave, a 2D side scrolling shooter that’s one part Metroid, one part Alien and all parts intriguing.

The trailer is narrated by Companion, a mysterious human who was responsible for reviving the protagonist and currently aids her in finding a way off the ghost ship she’s trapped in. I must admit that Companion’s tale is rather tragic–his faith and dependance on the main character even more so. What makes it even sadder is the fact that the player can choose to either rescue or abandon Companion, which makes what he’s says at the end a very real risk.

However, things look bleak for this Kickstater. InterWave has 17 hours to go with over £40,000 to raise for a successful campaign. Hopefully, they can pull off a miracle right before the end. If you would like to contribute, go here to do so.
